Introducing Discovery Mode, a new video-first way to explore projects in the Kickstarter app.

Swipe through short videos from creators, get a behind-the-scenes look at what they’re making, and discover projects you might not have found otherwise. When something catches your eye, you can visit the project, save it, follow it, share it, or back it — all without leaving the experience.

For backers

Your next favorite project is a swipe away.

Explore a stream of short videos featuring projects across Kickstarter, from prototypes and works in progress to behind-the-scenes looks at the creative process. Find something you believe in and take action right away.

How it works

• Open the Kickstarter app and click the Discovery Mode banner at the top
• Swipe through videos from Kickstarter creators
• Tap into a project to learn more, or save, follow, share, or back it directly

For creators

Get discovered while people are browsing.

Creators can add a short, vertical video to their project to give potential backers a quick, visual introduction to what they’re making. It’s another way to put your project in front of people who are actively discovering new ideas in the Kickstarter app.

How it works

• Open your project in Project Build
• Navigate to the Basics tab and find the video upload section
• Upload a short, vertical video that showcases your project. Check out best practices for creating videos for Discovery Mode
• Save your changes. Your video will be added to the Discovery Mode feed when you launch
